Tiffany L. Mosby, M.S., M.F.T.

Tiffany L. Mosby, M.S., M.F.T. was born in Saint Louis, Missouri to two loving parents. She has faced much adversity and biases as a person with a physical disability and ethnic minority. She sees this diversity, not as a weakness but as strength. These attributes have contributed to her ability to see life from a fresh perspective and to encourage others to become empowered.

The unique perspective she has as an African-American therapist and person with a physical disability has motivated her to facilitate disability workshops for counseling professionals throughout the United States and Canada. “Open your eyes to the unspoken problems that exist for people with disabilities. Equip yourself with the ability to provide excellent services and honor the stories of your clients with physical disabilities (Mosby, 2006, p. 4).”

Tiffany has a Bachelors of Art degree in Psychology from William Woods University in Fulton, Missouri and a Masters of Science degree in Marital and Family Therapy from St. Thomas University in Miami, Florida. Tiffany graduated top of her class from her family therapy program with a 4.0 GPA, and is a member of numerous honor societies such as Chi Sigma Iota; the Counseling Honor Society, Psi Chi; the National Honor Society of Psychology, and Kappa Gamma Pi; the National Catholic College Graduate Honor Society. Tiffany is also member of the Chancellor’s List, a subsidiary of the Who’s Who among America’s College Students (graduate student edition).

Tiffany has accomplished a lot within her thirty years. She actively serves on the Board of the Missouri Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. She enjoys traveling worldwide. She has studied at the Universite de Bourgogne A Dijon in Dijon, Burgundy; France and the College D’International de Cannes, which is located in Cannes, Cote D’Azur; France.

In addition to having a love for travel, she enjoys working in research and contributing to the scientific community with such research studies as, “Colorblind Love...? The African-American Interracial Dating Experience.” This research study won first place in the Florida Association for Marriage and Family Therapy Research Competition in 2003. This research study encouraged Tiffany to continue to investigate and educate others on the issues such as HIV/AIDS.

She also facilitates psychoeducational support groups and counseling in the child/parent relationship, disabilities, as well as African American issues.

Tiffany facilitates in depth and practical workshops for the counseling professional on clients with physical disabilities.

During her leisure time, Tiffany enjoys spending time with her family and toy poodle named, Royal. She is currently writing the memoirs of her life. To request Ms. Mosby, M.S., M.F.T. to speak at your community agency or conference, please contact her at tiff76any@hotmail.com.
